Narnia 4: The Silver Chair (2024) takes audiences back to the magical land of Narnia in a story full of danger, heroism, and mystery. Based on C.S. Lewis’s fourth book in The Chronicles of Narnia series, The Silver Chair follows Eustace Scrubb (Will Poulter) and his school friend, Jill Pole, as they are summoned by Aslan the Great Lion to embark on a perilous quest.

The story begins with Eustace and Jill at their dreary school, dealing with bullying and loneliness. Aslan appears to them, leading them into Narnia, where they are tasked with rescuing Prince Rilian, the missing heir of King Caspian. Prince Rilian vanished years before, searching for the serpent that killed his mother, and rumors of his capture by a dark force have spread throughout Narnia.

Guided by Aslan’s cryptic signs, Eustace and Jill venture through treacherous terrain, joined by the gloomy but loyal Marsh-wiggle, Puddleglum (played by Andy Serkis). Together, they travel through misty swamps, snowy mountains, and the Underland, a dark, eerie kingdom ruled by the sinister Lady of the Green Kirtle (portrayed by Eva Green). As the heroes journey deeper into Underland, they encounter enchanted creatures, puzzling riddles, and traps set by the Lady to prevent them from finding Rilian.

The climax of The Silver Chair occurs in the underground lair, where they discover Rilian under a powerful enchantment. Bound to the Silver Chair, the prince is controlled by the Lady, who plans to use him to take over Narnia. In a heart-pounding scene, Jill and Eustace, with Puddleglum’s help, break the spell, freeing Rilian from his trance. The heroes engage in a fierce battle against the Lady, who transforms into a monstrous serpent in a nod to the creature that killed Rilian’s mother.

The film concludes with Prince Rilian reunited with his father, King Caspian, and peace restored in Narnia. Aslan sends Eustace and Jill back to their world, leaving them changed by their bravery and growth. The Silver Chair balances thrilling adventure and deep themes of courage, friendship, and redemption, making it a welcome addition to the Narnia cinematic journey. Fans can expect a mix of wonder, suspense, and classic Narnian magic in this captivating adaptation.
